Eugene was an awesome friend, neighbor, surrogate grandfather for the kids, historian, and so much more! We were so blessed to have had him in our lives! He was kind and caring, knew every plant in the forest and the meadow where he could be found picking the fresh spring dandelions. He had a soft spot for animals (especially Bonnie who accompanied him everywhere). He loved his community and worked hard to make the Sandy Valley area a better place to live. Eugene was an inspirational leader and initiated many a project including the Helping Hands storage unit. He had a heart of gold and you could count on him to share produce from his garden with neighbors (he especially loved the big pink tomatoes!). I am sure he is up in Heaven with his beloved Doris and Bonnie, busy making repairs to the Rainbow Bridge. He will be missed!
