Ernest R. Boggs
Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away suddenly Sunday in his home, March 4, 2018. He was born August 10, 1930 in Canton, a son of the late Harry and Yvonne (Sweitzer) Boggs, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1953. Ernie was a 1949 graduate of Alliance High School. He was retired from R. G. Smith Co., where he was a Supt. of construction projects and was a member of Ironworkers Local #550. Ernie had been a member of the former Waynesburg United Methodist Church, and a member of the Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Dept., Waynesburg Historical Society, Sandy Valley American Legion Post #432, with whom he participated with the Honor Guard in parades for many years, also a member of Tubal Lodge #551 (now merged with Augusta Lodge #504) F. & A.M., and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. Ernie served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Korea. He is survived by his wife, Roberta L. (Rugani) Boggs, with whom he would have celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on March 26nd; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicki and Larry Bouscher, and Cathy Boggs; and two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, Stephen (Kristy) Bouscher and their daughter, Charlotte, and Michael Bouscher; also his sister, Madelyn DePalmo. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Fr. Joseph Zamary officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. Masonic Services will be held at 5:45 p.m. Wed. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ernie’s memory may be made to St. James School, 400 W.
