Carolyn Wise

Carolyn Jean Wise     1935 – 2016  

Age 81, of Canton, passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.  Carolyn was born Sept. 1, 1935 in Canton, a daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Klingensmith) Wise and was a life resident.  She was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School and had worked as a bookkeeper at Harter Bank.  Carolyn was retired from First Christian Church of Canton, after over 30 years service, where she was financial secretary.  She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Welshimer Sunday school class and the Keenagers Retirees Group.  She was a 65 year member and State and National Counselor for the Daughters of America, Pride of Canton Lodge #242.  Carolyn devoted her life to God, Country, and her family.  She gave countless hours to volunteering at church, Meals on Wheels, and helping people.  She enjoyed being with family and friends, watching sports, traveling, crossword puzzles, and reading.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece and nephew, Kathy and Jeff Wise.  Carolyn is survived by her sister, Janet Garcia, of Canton, her brother and sister-in-law, William and Helen Wise, of Navarre, and two nephews, Scott and Chrystel Garcia, and their sons, Anthony and Mitchell, and Jon and Carolyn Garcia, and their children, Jared, Emily, and Megan.  Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Bullock officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.  Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday from 10-11 a.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to Mercy Hospice for the love and care they gave to Carolyn.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carolyn’s memory may be made to: the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
