Bruce E. Weisburn
Age 63, of Waynesburg, devoted husband, father and grandpa, passed away suddenly Wed., March 7, 2018. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Jack and Maxine (Flesher) Weisburn, and was a life resident of Waynesburg. Bruce was a 1973 graduate of St. Edward High School in Carrollton. He was retired from The Timken Co., after 44 ½ years service, where he was a millwright and a Senior Manager Analyst. Bruce has served his community so many ways all his life. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, and helped with Bingo the night before he died. He was a firefighter many years, being the fourth of five generations of his family to serve, and was Chief for the Waynesburg Fire Department as well as the Sandy Township Fire Dept. After retiring from the fire dept. because of health, he became a Sandy Township Trustee for 22 years, serving as President many years. He was one of the originators to set up the Mohawk Valley Fire District, and has been on the Board and the only President to serve since its beginning in 2015. Bruce was the first of three people to become a paramedic for Waynesburg EMS in 1978 and helped found Quad Ambulance in 1980. He was a life member of the NRA. Bruce is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Haney) Weisburn, with whom he celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary on Sept.1, 2017; two sons and a daughter, Brent and Angie Weisburn, and their children, Alyssa and Jack, John and Katie Weisburn, and their daughter, Evelyn, and Tiffany Weisburn, and her children, Dustin, Toryn, Alana, and Ally; one brother and three sisters, Eric, Nancy, Lisa, and Yvonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 3-6 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. A Last Alarm Service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruce’s memory may be made to either St. James Catholic Church, Quad Ambulance, or Mohawk Valley Joint Fire District.
