Age 92, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. Born Oct. 31, 1925 in Meadville, PA, Betty was the daughter of the late William and Blanche Stavey. After the death of her father when she was four years old, Betty was adopted by Martin and Lizzie Dine. She had been a Magnolia resident since 1949. Betty was a 1944 graduate of Bloomfield High School in Lincolnville, PA. She had been a bookkeeper for Alliance City Hospital, a receptionist and PBX operator for Alliance Clay Products, and then for 20 years was a realtor for R. J. Baier Agency in Canton and with her husband’s Vern Kampfer Agency. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Magnolia, the Amanda Circle of the church, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Florida. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon L. Kampfer, on Nov. 3, 1998, two brothers and two sisters, William and George “Dick” Stavey, and Esther Cotterman and Doris Peters. Betty is survived by four sons, Douglas (Susan) Kampfer, of Hilton Head Island, SC, Stephen (Cheryl) Kampfer, of Canton, Kevin Kampfer, of Canton, and Kalvin Kampfer, of Magnolia; one grandson, Jonathan Kampfer and his fiancee’, Cassandra Walker; two brothers, Wesley (Dolly) Dine and Jack Newel. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor J. Andrew Riggs officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, and Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.
